About Our Program

MHAA Academy Mission - MHAA Academy was launched in June 2022. The main reason for having an Academy here in MHAA is to help our more committed and serious soccer players continue to success. Over the years we have seen MHAA players leaving our club to seek higher levels of training/playing at other clubs. It is clear that Mint Hill has a ton of soccer talent, we now want to make sure there is a pathway here in their backyard. Our program will now start to identify players early in our Recreational Program. Academy training will start at 7U and teams will be formed at 8U. MHAA Academy is excited to be back in NCYSA, we will have teams in the Academy & Classic Leagues. All training and coaching will be provided by New Era Training Soccer Academy aka (NETSA).

What is an Academy? By definition an Academy means "a place of study or training in a special field". Here at MHAA NETSA our "special field" would be a higher learning of soccer. In today's sports and clubs, one of the most used words is Academy. They use this word because it helps make it feel prestigious or important, but in the end it is just a word. Our definition of Academy is "a unique methodology of coaching/training/playing that is taught the same to all of our players". Every player and team will receive this same exact training and coaching, which in return will create a certain brand. Not only will we create a new brand of soccer for all MHAA teams, but all of our players will be held to a higher standard of learning.

New Era Training Soccer Academy (NETSA) NETSA was launched in 2005 by Coach Chez in Long Island, NY. NETSA's methodology supports and emulates a Spanish style of soccer known as "Tiki Taka". Tiki Taka was created years ago by Johan Cruyff in Barcelona which was then further improved by Pep Guardiola. Pep took Barcelona to new heights, then continued his success at Bayern Munich and is now the current coach at Manchester City. This style of soccer is not only effective but a beautiful way of playing the game. In order to play this style of soccer all players must be fit, technical, tactical, game intelligent and most of all disciplined. Since 2005 this style of soccer at NETSA has developed not only in soccer training but LIFE training as well.
